The Board of Directors

The CDC Education Foundation has a small, working board of directors who donate time, talent, and financial support to achieve the mission and goals of the organization and oversee day-to-day non-profit management.

Not all are chefs. Each board member however, has a passion for the culinary arts and a dedication to advancing the causes of culinary education, providing an equitable environment for aspiring chefs, and serving the needs of a diverse consumer base that helps to strengthen the overall industry and the communities it serves.

Don Williamson, President

Don Williamson is a retired professional journalist and chef educator with a passion for writing, culinary arts and working with young people.

Paul De Puyt, Sgt. At Arms

Paul De Puyt is a 40-year resident of San Diego who has always had a passion for the culinary arts. He adheres to the concept of life-long learning and was the 2020 Chefs de Cuisine Student of the Year.

Bradford L. Bruce

Bradford L. Bruce is a premier San Diego wine judge, a wine enthusiast, seminar developer, and presenter. He has been judging wines for the California Grapevine Newsletter for 17 years.

Adam Stone

Adam Stone, Esq. is a graduate of Adrian College and California Western School of Law and licensed in California as an attorney and real estate broker. A Detroit native, he came to San Diego in 2009, lives with his wife Emily and seeks to consistently advocate for our community.

Christine Garingo

Christine Garingo Laraza is a student completing her studies in Culinary Arts at Grossmont College and was awarded the honor of being the 2019 Chefs de Cuisine Student of the Year.

Steven Keifer

Steven Keifer received the 2020 Chefs de Cuisine Educator of the Year Award. This San Diego native credits his passion for food with the “audacious multicultural flavors of this city”.

Shannon Ratliff

Shannon Ratliff is a strong advocate for locally grown and produced foods and products and believes everyone deserves access to fresh and healthy produce.

Jeff Roberto

Jeff Roberto is a master sushi chef and the owner of Sushi On a Roll and Kyoto Japanese Market. He was a local culinary legend long before the current popularity of sushi in San Diego.

Ricardo Santana

Ricardo Santana is immediate past president of the Chefs de Cuisine Association and currently serves as chairman of the board and a liaison between the Association and the Education Foundation.

Sandee Van Orshoven, Secretary

Sandee Van Orshoven has a wide range of experience. Her standout skillset, however, is her determination to successfully complete any assigned task.
